Tantalum has a series of excellent properties, such as a high melting point, low steam pressure, good cold working performance, high chemical stability, strong resistance to liquid metal corrosion, and a large dielectric constant of the surface oxide film. Tantalum plate is mainly used for chemical reaction equipment such as coating, valve, internal heat exchanger, cathodic protection system of steel structure, and corrosion-resistant fasteners of the water tank, such as screws, nuts, and bolts; tantalum sheet can be used for sputtering target.
Tantalum wire and tantalum rod are mainly used to repair hip joints, skull plates, bone damaged by tumors, suture clips, stent vessels, and high-temperature furnace parts. Therefore, tantalum has important applications in high-tech fields such as electronics, metallurgy, steel, the chemical industry, cemented carbide, atomic energy, superconducting technology, automotive electronics, aerospace, medical and health care, and scientific research.
