Classification and application of TZM rod

Titanium zirconium molybdenum rod (TZM rod) is prepared by powder metallurgy. TZM bar is a kind of superalloy which is made of molybdenum as the matrix and added with trace elements such as Ti, Zr, and C. It has good high-temperature properties, mechanical properties, and other good properties, including high melting point, high strength, high elastic modulus, small linear expansion coefficient, low vapor pressure, good conductivity, and thermal conductivity, strong corrosion resistance, good high-temperature mechanical properties, so it is widely used in many fields.

Classification of TZM bars

TZM alloy bars can be divided into the following types according to the degree of processing:

Sintered TZM bars: Sintered TZM bars are bars that have not undergone subsequent processing, and their surfaces are gray and black without metallic luster.

Forged TZM bar: after forging, the surface of the TZM bar will have a layer of oxide, and the surface will show black metal-free color.

Polish TZM rod: TZM rod can be polished once or several times according to the surface state and quality requirements, and the polished surface of the TZM rod shows silver-gray metallic luster.

Polishing TZM rod: Polishing TZM rod refers to polishing the rod to reduce the surface roughness of the alloy rod, so as to obtain a bright and flat TZM rod.

Alkali-washed TZM rod: The alkali-washed TZM rod is obtained through the alkali washing process. The surface of the alkali-washed TZM rod shows a gray metallic luster and is relatively smooth.

TZM rod application

TZM bars have good high-temperature properties and mechanical properties, so they are widely used in various high-temperature fields. It is often used to manufacture electric vacuum devices and electric light source parts and is suitable for the preparation of ion implantation parts. As a high-temperature heating element and high-temperature structural part, it is often used as an electrode in the glass and refractory fiber industry as a furnace. Working in 1300 ℃ glass melt, it not only has good performance but also has a long service life. It is also widely used as an electrode in the rare earth industry. In order to prepare different kinds of hot nozzles and hot runners, TZM rods can also be employed in hot runner systems.
