Research on Isothermic Forging Preparation Process of TB6 Titanium Alloy Shaped Charge

Aug 16, 2022

The shaped charge is the key component to determining the damage ability of the warhead. Compared with the traditional dome material, the titanium alloy can achieve a good matching of penetration depth and aperture.

The effect of deformation temperature, deformation rate, and deformation amount on the microstructure and texture characteristics of TB6 titanium alloy isothermal forging in the α+β phase region was studied. The TB6 titanium alloy liner sample was prepared by the optimized process, and its microstructure and mechanical properties were characterized.

The results showed that after α+β In isothermal forging, the average grain size of TB6 titanium increases with the increase of forging temperature, and the texture strength decreases with the decrease of deformation rate. The isothermal forged TB6 titanium alloy liner prepared by the optimized process has uniform grain size at all parts after solid solution aging treatment. The average tensile strength at room temperature along the direction of the conical busbar of the liner is 1128mpa.
