Recently, the research and development project of 1000MPa large-scale wide width high strength and high toughness titanium alloy thick plate was jointly undertaken by the metal Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and another enterprise has achieved phased results. the project team successfully developed a single weight of 8.7 tons 1000MPa high strength and high toughness titanium alloy plates with a specification of 55×2200×15700mm, which is the largest single weight and longest length wide width high strength and high toughness titanium alloy plate produced in China so far.
During the development process, the project team has mastered a series of key technologies, such as melting of super large high-strength and high-toughness titanium alloy ingots, preparation of large wide width and ultra-thick high-strength, and high-toughness titanium alloy slabs, rolling of wide width and ultra-long high-strength and high-toughness titanium plates. The plate has excellent performance and ultrasonic detection results, and the detection level is up to Φ 1.2-9dB。
The successful development of this plate has created a new record of "the largest homogeneous ingot, the largest single slab, and the largest specification of high-quality plate" of high-strength and high-toughness titanium alloy in China, and the overall technology is at the leading level in China. This product can meet the user needs of large-scale deep-sea pressure-resistant equipment and is of great significance for improving the large-scale and lightweight level of China's marine equipment.
