Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy is the most widely used and produced titanium alloy material at present. The titanium alloy is widely used in aviation, aerospace, weapon equipment, and other fields because of its high creep resistance, durable strength, and good thermal stability. With the development of science and technology, Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy has also been widely used in civil fields, such as petroleum, chemical industry, sports, glasses, and other industries. However, compared with traditional steel materials, the cost of titanium alloy materials is too high, and there has been no effective way to reduce the cost, which seriously limits the further popularization and application of titanium alloy in price-sensitive fields.
Titanium alloy processing materials have the characteristics of long processing flow and low yield. From sponge titanium to processing materials, only 0.4 ~ 0.6kg of sponge titanium per kilogram will enter the finished products. Therefore, a large number of residues will be generated in the whole processing process, especially Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy. If titanium and alloy residues can be recycled, it will effectively reduce the cost of materials and improve the market competitiveness of materials. At present, large titanium processing enterprises in the world have mastered the recovery and treatment process of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy residues, and have added them to some important aerospace products.

The recovery process test of scrap residue was carried out by cold bed furnace melting and auxiliary addition of Al, V elements, and sponge titanium. The results show that the chemical composition of the melted ingot is uniform, which can meet the application requirements, and the recovery process is reasonable and feasible; The oxygen content in the ingot can be effectively controlled when the addition ratio of chip residue is 60% ~ 70%.
