1. Gr3 is a kind of industrial pure titanium. It is a compact metal with a titanium content of no less than 99% and a small amount of iron, oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, and other impurities.

Gr3 is industrial titanium, and the industrial pure titanium commonly used in industry is Gr2 because its corrosion resistance and comprehensive mechanical properties are moderate. When a high level of wear resistance and strength is required, Gr3 might be employed. Gr1 can be used when good molding performance is required.

Pure titanium Grade

Industrial pure titanium is often available in the following grades: Gr-1, Gr-2, Gr-3, and Gr-4 of ASTM, Japanese JIS classes 2, 3, IMI grades 115, 125, 130, 155, and 160, and German DIN 3.7025, 3.7035, 3.7055, and 3.7065.

The machinability of industrial pure titanium is similar to that of austenitic stainless steel, but due to its high chemical activity and poor thermal conductivity, titanium has a high bonding tendency to the tool surface, so the specific cutting process should be different from that of steel.

Industrial pure titanium is suitable for all kinds of welding, and the weld zone has excellent fluidity. There are many welding methods, and argon arc welding is the most widely used in industry.
