Tantalum rods, due to their high strength (tensile strength ≥300MPa), corrosion resistance (resistant to strong corrosive media such as hydrochloric acid, concentrated nitric acid, and aqua regia), and high-temperature stability (melting point 2996℃), are widely used in many fields.
Due to their extremely high corrosion resistance, tantalum rods can be used to manufacture chemical equipment, such as tower reactors, reaction vessels, and evaporators, exhibiting excellent corrosion resistance in corrosive environments such as strong acids and strong alkalis.
In addition, because tantalum has good electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance, it can be used to manufacture electronic devices such as capacitors and resistors. Tantalum capacitors, in particular, possess comprehensive properties such as high capacitance, low leakage current, low equivalent series resistance, good high and low temperature characteristics, and long service life, and are widely used in industrial and scientific sectors such as communications, computers, automobiles, household and office appliances, and instruments.
In addition to the aforementioned applications, tantalum rods are also used to manufacture machined fasteners such as bolts, screws, and nuts, which play a vital role in industries such as mining, energy, and pharmaceuticals, as well as in metal and chemical processing. Furthermore, tantalum rods are used in the repair of medical devices such as skull plates and suture frames, and as sputtering targets in gun barrel manufacturing.
