May 16, 2022

DAT57M high-strength titanium alloy with no vanadium element developed by Daido Steel Ltd. of Japan has been successfully registered into the American ASTM B348/B348M standard (Standard Specification for Titanium and Titanium Alloy Bars and Billets), and the registration grade is grade 41.

DAT57M titanium alloy is composed of Ti-6Al-1Fe, belonging to α+β Titanium alloy. Its specific gravity is 4.39, slightly lower than 4.43 of Ti-6Al-4V alloy; The tensile strength, fatigue strength, and other mechanical properties as well as hot forming and machining properties are equivalent to those of Ti-6Al-4V alloy and do not contain vanadium, It is expected to replace the widely used Ti-6Al-4V Alloy in the future.
