3. What is the manufacturing process of titanium strips?
Titanium material smelting
The process of melting titanium raw materials and additives to prepare titanium and titanium alloy compact ingots is the first process of titanium material preparation.
In 1940, Luxembourg scientist J. W. Kroll produced dense titanium ingots by vacuum non-consumable arc-melting titanium sponge for the first time in American history. In the late 1940s, the finalization of the industrial-scale consumable furnace was first completed in the United States, marking that the titanium smelting industry entered a stage of stable development. In the middle of the 1950s, the former Soviet Union, Britain, and Japan all started their titanium smelting enterprises.
Generally, titanium materials can be prepared by two self-consumption smelting, and some titanium alloys for important uses such as aviation need to be smelted three times. The titanium strip's basic material is smelted twice for self-consumption before being created through forging, rolling, leveling, and other techniques.
4. The characteristics of titanium strips are: good plasticity, easy to punch; good in the atmosphere, seawater, titanium strip open, wet chlorine and oxidizing, neutral and weak reducing media. The corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance are better than most stainless steel, but the heat resistance is poor and the use temperature is not too high.
