This type of alloy is in an α-type single-phase state at room and use temperatures. It cannot be heat-treated and strengthened (annealing is the only form of heat treatment) and mainly relies on solid solution strengthening.
The tensile strength of Gr4 titanium sheet is slightly higher than that of industrial pure titanium, and it can be used as a structural material in the medium strength range. It is used primarily as welding wire in China and is widely used in the electroplating hanger industry abroad.
Gr4 titanium material has the highest strength among pure titanium grades, suitable for working environments of 0-427°C, and can be welded at intermittent temperatures to 538°C. Its production process includes air cooling after applying pressure at a specific temperature for 30 minutes to 4 hours and annealing at another temperature for 15 minutes to 2 hours and air cooling.
The chemical composition and material standards of Gr4 titanium sheets are clearly defined in the industry, including AMS 4901, AMS 4921, ASTM B 265, and other standards. This shows that Gr4 titanium has the characteristics of high-strength pure titanium. In addition, the Gr4 titanium plate also has excellent characteristics such as lightweight, non-magnetic, non-toxic, corrosion-resistant, and good biocompatibility. It is widely used in electroplating frame contacts, anodizing equipment, electrolytic polishing, shipbuilding, frame construction, fasteners, medical equipment, dental implants, and surgical instruments.
