The dense oxide film formed on the surface of titanium alloy hinders the further reaction of the substrate to the external environment, it shows excellent corrosion resistance in different corrosion media. The rate of erosion-corrosion of several metal materials in flowing seawater is shown in the table below, and the results show that titanium alloys have little corrosion in flowing seawater.
