In October 2014, British doctors and scientists used 3D printing technology to put the palm on a 5-year-old girl in Scotland. When she was born, her left arm had no palm but only a wrist. With the cooperation of doctors and scientists, a special 3D printing titanium alloy palm was designed and successfully installed for her, as shown in Figure 1.
