The U.S. manufactures 7 components such as a turret plate, the cover of nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons confrontation system, command compartment cover, and the cover of the gunner's main aiming device for the M1 tank, which reduces the weight of the turret by 475 kg and has better protection capability.
Gradually, Titanium alloy is used in body, armor, and turret manufacturing due to its superior performance. At the same time, domestic and international researchers are exploring the use of titanium to make components such as load wheels, balance shafts, and gearboxes. Titanium alloy will be an important application direction of armored vehicle manufacturing materials.
