What is the application of titanium clad copper bars?

Apr 09, 2022

Titanium-copper composite rod, also known as a titanium-clad copper bar, is a titanium layer coated with a certain thickness on the copper rod, which is the main component of the metal anode. It integrates the excellent electrical conductivity of copper and the excellent corrosion resistance of titanium and is mainly used in electrolysis, electroplating, hydrometallurgy, and metal anode electrolytic cells under strong corrosion conditions. The excellent electrical conductivity of the material, on the other hand, the corrosion resistance of the coating material is exerted, and it is a high-quality electrode material.

Performance of titanium clad copper bars: Titanium clad copper rods are the main components of metal anodes, and their functions are as follows:

  1.  Support the anode; the titanium-clad copper bar has a certain strength and bending resistance, and the yield strength of the composite rod reaches 128MPa, which fully meets the production design requirements.

  2.  Excellent electrical conductivity; the production process of the explosion + rolling method enables the titanium and copper to be completely and tightly compounded without delamination, so it has good electrical conductivity, the compound strength reaches 135Mpa, and the micro-resistance is 7.77×10-6Ω.

  3.  Corrosion resistance, the outer layer of the titanium-copper composite rod is in direct contact with the electrolyte medium, and the pure titanium in the outer layer has excellent corrosion resistance, and its life is more than 10 times longer than that of other materials.
