It has lower purity than Gr1 Gr2 pure titanium rod but has higher tensile strength. It is an excellent choice for industrial corrosion resistance and high strength.
The corrosion resistance of pure titanium rods is mainly reflected in the formation of a dense oxide film on its surface. This oxide film has a self-healing ability and can protect the titanium rods from corrosion. The electrode potential of pure titanium can reach +0.46,which makes its corrosion resistance 100 times higher than that of stainless steel.
Additionally, pure titanium has excellent corrosion resistance in most acid, alkali, and salt solutions. For example,in 20% hydrochloric acid,the annual corrosion rate of industrial pure titanium at 60℃ is 25.6mm. In contrast, the annual corrosion rate of some titanium alloys such as Ti-0.2Pd alloy is only 0.255mm,showing Titanium alloy has significant advantages in corrosion resistance.
