1. Titanium alloy sheet is a type of metal sheet made of many titanium alloys, including Gr5, Gr7, Gr12, and others. It is an alloy composed of titanium and other elements, the most commonly used are Gr5 and Gr12.

Titanium alloy has two kinds of homogeneous and heterogeneous crystals: close-packed hexagonal structure below 882 ℃ α Titanium, and body-centered cubic above 882 ℃ β Titanium.
Alloy elements can be divided into three types according to their influence on phase transformation temperature:
① Steady α
Aluminum, carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen are examples of stable elements that elevate the phase transition temperature. Aluminum is the principal alloying element of titanium alloy. It has an obvious effect on improving the strength at room temperature and high temperature, reducing the specific gravity, and increasing the elastic modulus of the alloy.
② Steady β
The elements that decrease the phase transition temperature are β stable elements, which can be divided into isomorphic and eutectoid types. The former includes molybdenum, niobium, vanadium, etc. The latter include copper, iron, chromium, manganese, silicon, etc.
③ The elements that have a small effect on the phase transition temperature are neutral elements, such as zirconium, tin, and so on.
Oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, and hydrogen are the major impurities in titanium alloys. Oxygen and nitrogen have a large solubility in the α phase, which has an outstanding strengthening effect on titanium alloy but reduces the plasticity. It is generally stipulated that the contents of oxygen and nitrogen in titanium are less than 0.15 ~ 0.2% and 0.04 ~ 0.05% respectively. In this phase, hydrogen solubility is quite low. A titanium alloy that has too much hydrogen dissolved in it will produce hydride and become brittle. Generally, the hydrogen content is controlled below 0.015% in titanium alloy. The dissolution of hydrogen in titanium is reversible and can be eliminated by vacuum annealing.

4. Titanium alloy sheet has many excellent characteristics, which are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

High strength. Titanium alloy has high strength. Its tensile strength is 686-1176mpa, while its density is only about 60% of that of steel, so its specific strength is very high.

High hardness. Titanium alloy (annealed state) hardness is 32-38 HRC

Low elastic modulus. The elastic modulus of titanium alloy (annealed state) is 1.078 × 10－1.176 × 10MPa, about half of that of steel and stainless steel.

Excellent high and low-temperature performance. Titanium alloy can still preserve good mechanical properties at high temperatures. Its heat resistance is much higher than aluminum alloy, and its working temperature range is wide. At present, the working temperature of new heat-resistant titanium alloy can reach 550-600 ℃; At low temperatures, the strength of titanium alloy is higher than that at normal temperatures and has good toughness. Low-temperature titanium alloy can maintain good toughness at - 253 ℃.
